Well, pretty much anyone who is willing to invest the time to practice the exercises created by Joseph Pilates. It's not uncommon to see professional dancers using Plates to improve range of motion and strengthen muscles.
Football players are now using Pilates to promote symmetry and improve muscle imbalances.
Baseball players also benefit from improved core strength and stability.
Soccer players are learning Pilates to see improved recovery time as well as improved strength and flexibility.
Anyone who spends time behind a desk or on a computer will notice an improved posture due to improved alignment of the core muscles. Pilates also lengthens and stretches the muscles to improve flexibility.
In some cases, you certainly can. The guidelines set by the IRS and your benefit administrator state that you will need a Letter of Medical Necessity from your doctor (or nurse practitioner) that verifies that the services are intended to treat or prevent a medical condition. The LoMN should include type of training, amount of training, and overall time frame. For example: "For treatment of XXXXX condition, Pilates exercise training #/week for # months".
